| Originally from Santa Cruz CA, Bob started playing trombone at age 10. While at a young age he toured with two drum and bugle corps, played in the Washington All-State Jazz Band, the Port Angeles Symphony and received numorous awards including the National Association of Jazz Educators (N.A.J.E.) Outstanding Soloist Award, and gold medalist with the Seattle Symphony. He starting his music degree at Central Washington University and continued at the University of Hawaii. In Hawaii he played in several Funk Soul R&B horn bands,and big bands with such greats as Eric Miyashiro (Buddy Rich/Maynard Ferguson), Bruce Harris, Doug Buchanan(Charlie Musclewhite), and Abe Weinstein entertaining countless audiences throughout the islands for close to twenty years. After relocating to Charlotte, NC, he founded Powerhouse, delivering the dynamic power and energy of a tight Horn-Driven Funk, Soul, R&B band to the mid-Atlantic. |
